Top 10 Tuesday: Have a Laugh

Top 10 Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010. It combines what I love most in this world into one—lists, books, and blogging. It couldn’t be any better suited for me! Today’s list is all about getting a laugh. Let’s jump right into the book that have made me chuckle in the past. 1. Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris I read this recently and some of his mementos are absolutely hilarious. He recounts serious tales of speech therapy as well as hilarious moments of scooping a turd out of a toilet bowl. A great, light read that leaves you with a couple giggles. If…

    Top 10 Tuesday: Quotes

Top 10 Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010. It’s a fun way for bloggers all over the Internet to connect and post the things they love about books. I know I posted a few weeks ago about my favorite quotations, but here I am again with another post all about my favorite quotes from the last year or so. 1. “Figure out what you want. Say it loud. Then shut up.” Amy Poehler — Yes Please This is one of the best pieces of advice I have ever received from a book. Amy speaks to me. Never be ashamed of what you want — if…

Everyone Probably Is Hanging Out Without You

I finished Mindy Kaling’s book, “Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?” recently, and I have to say I was a little disappointed. I had heard so many good things about it, and I just didn’t think it was the great. Maybe it’s because I read it so long after it was published, or maybe it’s because I’ve never gotten into “The Office”, but I didn’t like this book as much as I wanted to. (And I loved Amy Poehler’s book, so I thought I would love this too.) 1. I feel like she thinks she’s all that and a bag of chips.  She would talk about episodes of “The Office” and…

    Read Please

Title: Yes Please Author: Amy Poehler Genre: Humor mixed with a little biography Quotation: “I don’t consider myself beautiful or famous, but my vagina is.” Would recommend to: those searching for guidance and appreciative of humor. There’s been a slew of books printed in recent years by great comedians, the latest of which being Amy Poehler’s “Yes Please.” I’d love to be original and tell you it wasn’t my favorite, but then I’d be lying. I absolutely loved it. I raved about it for week and recommended it to anyone who would listen to me. First let me talk about the design of the book. It’s the first thing that popped out at me as original and…

    Treasure Tuesday

    1.  It’s Earth Week! Celebrate by planting a tree, picking up your local park, or spending some time in the great outdoors. 2. I just started Amy Poehler’s “Yes Please!” on Friday, and I’m almost done. It’s that good, I promise. 3. There are only three weeks of classes left at my university, and at most I’m thinking a month and a half for most people. 4. 5. Due to my most recent review of Harry Potter, please enjoy this Buzzfeed article highlighting Hermione in the books vs. the movies. 6. Check out this monkey selfie we talked about in my media law class on Monday. Happy reading, Kim
