    Catching My Eye | 01.01.21

Happy 2021! How good does that feel to say? I had a very low-key New Year’s Eve cuddled up on the couch at home with my boyfriend watching Star Wars, but I made the amazing charcuterie/snack-plate below that we munched on all night long. I’m looking forward to 2021. I know it’s not going to be all that different from 2020 if we are being honest in terms of the pandemic, but it still feels like an amazing fresh start. I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful holiday and is looking forward to a new year! Let’s get into what’s been catching my eye this week! one | tips…

    2020 TBR List

I know I’m being a bit aspirational, but I’ve compiled a list of 36 books I want to read in 2020. I know I won’t read them all, but I wanted to be more intentional about the books I’m picking up in this new year. I’ve broken it out into classics, non-fiction, and freebies. Let’s get started… Classics 1. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë 2. Catch-22 by Joseph Heller 3. The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas 4. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens 5. Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson 6. The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde 7. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott…

    2019 TBR List

Time to set some reading intentions for 2019! I’ve already started this year off strong by finishing two books in the first 14 days (that’s a big deal for me believe it or not), and I’m hoping to keep the momentum going through the next 11 months. I’ve compiled this list of books that are high on my reading list, but I know I’ll probably add a ton more before the year is up. Keep in mind this list is highly aspirational. I’ve listed 24 books in this post, and it’s not likely I’ll actually read every book on this list, but I’m going to try. Since I’m already listing out so…

Top 10 Tuesday: Books I Want NOW

Top 10 Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010. It combines what I love most in this world into one—lists, books, and blogging. It couldn’t be any better suited for me! Today I’m going to be talking about the books I would buy this instant if someone handed me a fully loaded gift card. Let’s get started! 1. All the Barnes and Noble Classics Yes, this really does count as one book (in this imaginary world where someone hands me a gift card for no apparent reason). I’ve always wanted to read all the classics like Great Expectations and Guliver’s Travels but I’ve never wanted to spend too much money…

    Treasure Tuesday

    1. I am currently reading “The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks” for my YA literature class. 2. I haven’t found this boy yet, hence I was single on Valentine’s day. 3. The 12th was my brother’s birthday and the 13th was my best friend’s birthday and I celebrated both at Buffalo Wild Wings!  3. Here are some revamped covers of classics that look absolutely gorgeous. Personally, I love #2, #6, and #18. 4. It snowed yesterday, and while I was so excited for a snow day, unfortunately I didn’t get one. I hope others across the nation (or at least in North Carolina) were a little luckier than I. 5. I…
