    It’s Been Four Years…

It’s been four years since I walked across the Elon University graduation stage. Four years that honestly flew by faster than I ever could have anticipated. I wanted to do a little bit of a reflection post to share what I learned in this time and how the real world isn’t all that scary. Let’s get started! What I’ve learned since graduating is… one | the world is so much bigger than you think it is If you let it, the world will show you exactly where you need to be, and you will experience so much more than you ever imagined. When I graduated, I couldn’t image life outside…

    Tell Me Lies: A Review

WARNING: There may be spoilers in this review.  We all have that one person we know doesn’t treat us right, but we can’t help being in love with them. For Lucy, that person is Stephen. Stephen is mediocre at best, but Lucy can’t help going back to him time and time again. Tell Me Lies starts out in present-day New York with Lucy working a so-so job heading off to her best friend’s wedding. Lucy is a jumble of nerves because she knows her ex-boyfriend, Stephen, is going to be there. The rest of the book is mainly told in flashbacks to the pair’s college days reliving their tumultuous relationship. This book…

How to Be a Better Student

Happy belated move-in weekend, Elon! I can’t believe it’s been six (SIX) years since I stepped foot on my alma mater’s campus for my first day of school. If you would have told me on that day where I would be now, I never would have believed you. While I’m perfectly content being in the real world, I do think back from time-to-time on what it would be like to do school all over again. What would I do differently? The same? Everything happens for a reason, so I would never change anything about my experience, but I can impart some wisdom on the new kids on the block. Whether…

    The Truth About Graduating College

I graduated almost a year ago. WOW. I can’t believe it’s been an entire year in the “real world.” Graduating college is a part of the experience that no one can avoid (well, I guess you can, but being a 12th year senior doesn’t sound like a ton of fun if you ask me). If I’m being perfectly honest, as I always try to be here, my first year post-grad was ROUGH. I graduated without a job meaning that I moved home for the summer. A massive hurricane hit my hometown (thanks, Irma). I moved to a city where I knew approximately three people. And I started a job where…

    I Am Thankful For…

Happy Thanksgiving 2017! I hope you are all enjoying some wonderful mashed potatoes and get to take that glorious post-Thanksgiving nap you’ve been dreaming of all year, but for now, I’m happy you’re here, and I want to tell you a few things I am thankful for this year. Sometimes I think we can forget what Thanksgiving is supposed to be all about amidst the mountains of food and tempting Black Friday sales, so here’s the little angel on your shoulder reminding you to be thankful for all that you have in your life and all that is to come. I love you all, and I wish you the happiest…

Top 10 Books to Read in College

Most universities have been in session for at least a month now (some for two), so I thought, what better way to welcome the new school year than by creating a book list just for college students (honestly, the lessons these books teach are timeless, but I think they especially pack a punch for those still in school). I know it’s hard to make time for reading when you’re rushing between classes, meetings, and study sessions, but if you’re anything like me, reading is your therapy, and you can manage to squeeze in at least 15 minutes a day to pick up a good book. Here is my list of…

Where Have I Been? An Honest Life Update

Photo by Sarah Stone follow her on Instagram at sarahstone_photography and check out her portfolio at sarahstoneportfolio.weebly.com You may be wondering ,”Where the heck have you been, Kimberly?” It’s been almost a year since I last posted on this platform, and for that, I am terribly sorry. The honest to God answer? I’ve been dealing with a lot of stuff — from internships, to leadership roles, to friendship turmoil, I honestly was just too busy during this last year to devote time to blogging properly. You guys deserve an explanation, so let’s start from the beginning. 1. Fall/Spring Semester The last time I posted was the summer of 2016 —…

    Treasure Tuesday

    1. I am currently still reading the Chronicles of Narnia (but I’m already on book five). 2. I started my senior year of college today. I feel extremely old, and I’m not ready to talk about it. 3. 4. Being home for a week was so great. I got to cuddle with my puppy, lay by the beach, and read a ton. 5. This sea otter is absolutely adorable. Happy reading, Kimberly

    Top 10 Tuesday: New TBR

Top 10 Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010. It combines what I love most in this world into one—lists, books, and blogging. It couldn’t be any better suited for me! Today I’m going to focus on the new releases I’ve added to my TBR read list for 2016. I probably won’t get through them all, but it’s always better to have too many books to read than not enough. 1. All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr It takes place in World War II and features a blind French girl and a German boy. Their paths cross and they learn how important it is…
