    Books I Read in November

I can’t believe we are in the last month of 2020. November was an overall good month, though it was pretty busy. Things are starting to wind down with the close of the year and the holidays coming up, so I’m hoping to end this year strong with some great books. Let’s get into the books I read in November! one | When They Call You a Terrorist by Patrisse Khan-Cullors and Asha Bandele — Audiobook Patrisse’s memoir chronicling the events in her life that led to the creation of Black Lives Matter is moving and enlightening in so many different ways. From her experiences with her brother who suffered from mental illness…

    2020 TBR List

I know I’m being a bit aspirational, but I’ve compiled a list of 36 books I want to read in 2020. I know I won’t read them all, but I wanted to be more intentional about the books I’m picking up in this new year. I’ve broken it out into classics, non-fiction, and freebies. Let’s get started… Classics 1. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë 2. Catch-22 by Joseph Heller 3. The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas 4. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens 5. Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson 6. The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde 7. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott…

Top 6 Fall Book Releases 2019

I know it’s not quite yet fall in Nashville, but I already want to pull out my sweaters and sip on some piping hot apple cider at a coffee shop all day long. The mornings have been a lot cooler here, which brings a smile to my face every time I walk out the door, so I figured I might as well pull the trigger and share some of the fall book releases I’m excited for in 2019. Let’s get started! Image from Amazon 1. Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo — October Galaxy (Alex) Stern is the sole survivor of an unsolved multi-homicide, so when she’s in her hospital bed…

    2019 TBR List

Time to set some reading intentions for 2019! I’ve already started this year off strong by finishing two books in the first 14 days (that’s a big deal for me believe it or not), and I’m hoping to keep the momentum going through the next 11 months. I’ve compiled this list of books that are high on my reading list, but I know I’ll probably add a ton more before the year is up. Keep in mind this list is highly aspirational. I’ve listed 24 books in this post, and it’s not likely I’ll actually read every book on this list, but I’m going to try. Since I’m already listing out so…

    October TBR List

Another month has come and gone, and yet again, I didn’t get nearly as much reading done as I wanted to, but such is life. I started a new job last week, and it has taken up all of my time getting adjusted to that, so it’s okay if reading fell a little bit to the way side. I’m going to switch it up in October and try to read some of the lighter books that have been on my list for awhile. Let’s get started!

    September TBR List

I’m cheating a little bit — but only a little bit — because these books were on some of my older TBR lists. I hope you can forgive me. I still haven’t gotten around to them (unfortunately, I didn’t read as much in August as I expected — life got in the way), but I’m DETERMINED to finish these books during September. From massive books discussed the decline in violence throughout time to an adult fantasy, September’s reads are sure to take me on a journey. Let’s get started! Image from Amazon

    June TBR List

Happy almost June! It feels like I’m jumping the gun since there are still 9 days until the end of the month, but I’m already excited about the books I’m going to be flipping through in the next month. The first time I made a TBR list for myself was last month, and I’ve got to say I was a lot more motivated to read knowing I wanted to finish certain books in the month. I haven’t finished them all yet, but it was the best month for reading I have had in a while. Let’s jump into my June TBR list! Image from Goodreads 1. “A Darker Shade of…

5 Books to Read this Spring

Spring has finally sprung! With spring officially having started on March 20, I’m still waiting for it to feel like spring in Nashville. With the promise of 65 degree weather for the coming weekend, my hopes are high. I can’t wait to pop open a new book on my deck and enjoy the breeze while flipping pages. I’ve compiled a list of books that came out in March or are going to be released in April that I think will make fantastic spring reads. Let’s get started! Top 5 Daunting Books to Read in 2018

Do you ever find yourself shying away from books that seem like they’ll take up way too much of your time? No…? Just me? Well, that’s okay. Personally, I get a little book-shy when I know I’m going to have to commit a lot of time to one book (I have commitment issues, are we surprised?). I’m worried it’s going to derail me from my overall  reading goals even though I know the read will be totally worth it. I’m trying to face that fear, and I’ve given myself the task of tackling these five daunting books in 2018 that have lived on my shelf for far too long. Let’s…

Top 12 Books to Look Forward to in 2018

A new year means a whole new set of books coming out to read. I’m typically pretty bad about looking forward and figuring out what amazing books are coming out, but this year I decided to add some new releases to my list to look forward to. I’ve compiled a list of books including one release for each month of the year. Genres include fiction, young adult fantasy, non-fiction and more. Let’s get started! Photo from Amazon 1.
