    April Goals & A March Update | 2021

Happy April! It feels like we were just celebrating New Years 2021, and now, it’s already the start to the second quarter. Wow! My first quarter of 2021 was pretty great — I didn’t accomplish everything on my to-do list, but I made a good dent. I’m on track with my reading goals, and I knocked some big tasks off the list. First Quarter Wins: I gave up sugar for 40 days (with one “cheat day”) – something I never thought I would be able to do. I led a non-profit through a crisis with a solid communications strategy. I’ve read 20 books already this year! March 2021 Goals Update one…

    February Goals | 2021

One month down, eleven more to go! We got this. How was everyone’s January? Personally, I thought mine went relatively well. Aside from a few distractions (namely, a coup), I remained focused on my goals and implemented new strategies and tactics to achieve those goals. Having yearly goals & intentions is all well and good, but if I don’t set monthly goals, there’s no way I’m going to achieve them. Let’s get into what I plan to tackle in February! one | develop a newsletter to send to my subscribers monthly I used to send a weekly newsletter with a wrap up of my blog posts, but I’m planning to…

September Goals & An August Update

Happy September! I’m actually really excited about this new month. My roommate and I decorated for fall this weekend because we are just ready for a change. With COVID, I feel like life has gotten pretty stagnant — I work-out, get ready for the day, read, work, cook dinner, hang out with Boyfriend, watch TV/read, go to bed, and repeat. I love my routine, but I need something different to spice up my day to day. Let’s get into what my September goals are… August 2020 Goal Update one | renew my Google AdWords and Google Analytics certification I didn’t get ANY closer to completing this goal than I was in August. OOPS! I’ve definitely…

July 2020 Goals (& An Update on June’s Goals)

Life is slowly, slowly starting to return back to normal. Not fully, but the pace is definitely picking up as more and more people are venturing out of their homes. I’m still mostly keeping to myself, but more calls are being scheduled for activities outside of work and more friends are wanting to socially-distance hang, so my calendar is quickly filling up again. I secretly love that life is getting back to “normal” because I love keeping busy and crossing things off my list. Since coronavirus isn’t going away any time soon (please, just wear a mask), we are all having to adapt to a new normal. Here are my…

    Catching My Eye | 8.9.19

Another week in the books! This week was especially fantastic because I got a cat! I’ve been talking about getting a cat for so long that some of my good friends already thought I had a cat. I brought home the precious nugget below on Saturday, and she’s just the cutest little cuddle bug already. I love being a cat mom, and I’m so glad I have her in my life even if she tries to sleep on my face. Her name is Maggie courtesy of my roommate (who I’m slowly turning into a cat person). Other than having a snuggle butt sharing my bed now, I caught up with some friends…

    Catching My Eye | 6.21.19

Hey friends, it’s been a while! I took last week off because I was planning not one, not two, but three events. I’m happy to announce they went super well, but it definitely took a toll on me. I felt like I was underwater for the whole rest of the week, and I was exhausted for the entirety of this week. Hopefully, I can take this weekend to rest up and get ready for some other big life changes coming my way. Last week, I had two big events for work that I coordinated and hosted, and then I helped host a large gala event at the zoo for a…

    I Cut Out Carbs for a Month…

…and here’s what happened. If you know me at all, you’re probably shocked to your core that I cut carbs out of my diet for an entire month. I’m the queen of pasta and garlic bread (there’s an adorably embarrassing story about Olive Garden breadsticks and a very confused waitress from 2014 that my friends still don’t let me live down), but somehow I managed to go an entire month without both. And it’s all because of Tori. In November, my brother and his girlfriend (Tori, I’ve mentioned both of them lots on the blog since they also live in Nashville) announced that they were going to be cutting out…

    7 Ways to Self-Care in 2018

Self-care has been a huge topic lately. I see articles on self-care everywhere I look and the importance of taking care of your mind and body (duh!), but I’m also seeing people talking about how you’ve got to make sacrifices to reach your dreams and the “no pain, no gain” mentally is still very much present. It seems like 2018 doesn’t know what it wants from us, and that there’s this dichotomy between hustling and working your butt off to be the best you can be, and taking care of yourself and relaxing. I know I have a hard time stepping away from the work flow to make sure I’m…
