    Catching My Eye | 09.04.20

Long weekend alert! I am so ready for three days off of work. It’s not that life has been any crazier than normal (some would argue it’s been slower with the pandemic) but it’s still nice to get three days off to do whatever I want to do. I picture this weekend being full of books, learning how to crochet, and cuddling with Maggie. Let’s get into what’s been catching my eye this week… one | this crochet kit… So, I’ve decided to become even more of a grandma and pick up crocheting! I am actually really excited about this new hobby. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for forever, but…

    June 2020 Goals

We’re almost halfway through June, but it’s never too late to share a little goal setting, is it? I have to admit, I haven’t been nearly as goal-oriented as I usually am since the coronavirus forced us all indoors for the past three months, but I’m trying to get back in the swing of things as the world starts going again. These are some overarching goals for the month, and I hope to knock them off my to-do list, but I obviously have 8 million other things I’d like to accomplish. I’ve got to start somewhere though. Let’s get started! 1// Develop my plan for continuing to educate myself on…

    Top 5 Lessons of 2018

Happy two-thousand and nineteen! Who was more than ready to say goodbye to 2018? Who hasn’t quite gotten over their New Year’s Eve hangover yet? Hang in there, I think 2019 is going to be better than expected. I like to reflect every December/January on the big lessons I learned in each year. Whether the year was good, bad, or just plain Jane, I know I learned important lessons throughout the 365 days. 2018 was a good but weird year for me. It was my first full year post-grad. I changed jobs multiple times due to some unforeseen situations. I traveled to new and different places. I made new friends,…

    New Year, New Resolutions

Happy New Year! When does it become unacceptable to say that? Anyways, it is the new year, and with a new year means new resolutions and goals. I know there’s a lot of argument against new year’s resolutions, but I don’t see the harm. In my humble opinion, we should always be striving to be best the best versions of ourselves, whether that be on the first of the year or a random Tuesday half-way through October. Resolutions, to me, are broad ideas of how you would like to change in the new year, so that’s what I’ve outlined in this post. Let’s get started! 1. Be kind to myself…

    22 Things I Learned By 23

This day marks my 23 birthday, and let me tell you, 23 seems a lot older than 22. So on this joyous occasion, I wanted to share some of the lessons I have learned during my short time on Earth. 22 to be exact. 1. Dry shampoo is your best friend. Honestly, anything that saves you time is a good investment. Time is money people. 2. You don’t owe anyone your friendship. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been friends with them since you were in diapers. if they were there for you when your mother died, or if they’ve paid off your college loans for you, if someone treats you…

    I Am Thankful For…

Happy Thanksgiving 2017! I hope you are all enjoying some wonderful mashed potatoes and get to take that glorious post-Thanksgiving nap you’ve been dreaming of all year, but for now, I’m happy you’re here, and I want to tell you a few things I am thankful for this year. Sometimes I think we can forget what Thanksgiving is supposed to be all about amidst the mountains of food and tempting Black Friday sales, so here’s the little angel on your shoulder reminding you to be thankful for all that you have in your life and all that is to come. I love you all, and I wish you the happiest…

    Treasure Tuesday

Happy Tuesday ya’ll! 1. I just got back from vacation where I spent a week in New Jersey and a weekend in New York celebrating my cousin’s wedding. It was my first time above the Mason-Dixon Line, and I absolutely loved it! 2. That being said…I’m sadly still immersed in “Allegiant” but should be done soon. 3.  4. You guys seriously need to check out Look Human. Search “books” and you’ll find some great stuff. Its clothing is so soft and comfy! 5. Having a rough week? Check out this list of books guaranteed to make you laugh from Buzzfeed. It’s got all the greats like Mindy Kaling, Amy Poehler,…
