Top 5 Books To Read When Traveling

Summer is the perfect time to travel! I know I’ve already taken one trip this season, have another planned for this weekend, and have someone visiting me the next. This week’s blog post is centered all around the books you should read when you take a break. This post is brought you by guest author Trixie Ricablanca Angeles, Chief Blogging Officer of Books in My Baggage. Let’s get started! Traveling is an ideal time to read, have fun, relax, and interact with other people. For those who love reading, getting the right books for the trip is one of the hardest parts.

Top 10 Books to Read in College

Most universities have been in session for at least a month now (some for two), so I thought, what better way to welcome the new school year than by creating a book list just for college students (honestly, the lessons these books teach are timeless, but I think they especially pack a punch for those still in school). Top 10 Tuesday: Books I Read in School

Top 10 Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010. It combines what I love most in this world into one—lists, books, and blogging. It couldn’t be any better suited for me! Top 5 Wednesday: Required Reading

This week is all about that dreaded required reading for school, and with classes starting soon, this is a very fitting topic. As a kid I loved to read, and as you can tell, not much as changed. But reading for my classes always seemed to be the worst thing I could have imagined. Of course I had some pretty bad experiences with required reading (ahem, “Romeo and Juliet” —it’s not a love story people!), but I also discovered amazing stories I never would have otherwise read. So here we go… 1. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee I read this freshman year of high school, and it was the…

    Top 10 Tuesday: Celebrating Diversity

Top 10 Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010. It’s a fun way for bloggers all over the Internet to connect and post the things they love about books. This week’s topic is books that feature diverse characters or diversity. Here we go… 1. Wicked by Gregory Macguire As I posted about in my Little Thoughts about “Wicked”, this book features a green witch. It’s not what you would typically think about when you hear “diversity,” but it’s the first book I’ve read where I completely forgot what the characters looked like and really focused on what they did. 2. It’s Kind of a Funny Story…
