I used to live in a town where it was summer all year long, but nothing compares to Nashville at this time of year. From local ice cream shops to a baseball game every other week, there’s no way you can be bored in Music City. Let’s get started! one | go to a baseball game I’ve never pretended to be a sports gal, but there is nothing better than a Sounds game from the Band Box on a hot summer night. Give me a hot dog and an ice cream cone…

20 Things to Be Thankful For in 2020

It probably goes without saying, but 2020 has been something else. There has been a whole lot of bad, but I also think there has been plenty to be thankful for as well. I instituted my nightly “Good Things” reviews on my Instagram stories, which really helped put everything in perspective and remind me that there are always good things even amongst the bad. one | friends, family, and everyone in between Let’s start off easy! I am so lucky to be surrounded by the most caring, empathetic, and supportive people. I wouldn’t be who I am today or have survived 2020 without each and every person that’s been by…

    The Southern Festival of Books

This past weekend Humanities Tennessee hosted the 31st annual Southern Festival of Books in Nashville. The festival featured around 50 booths of independent booksellers, book stores, writing workshops, writing societies, and more. In addition to the booths, there were sessions upon sessions throughout the three days that featured authors from across the spectrum of writing. I spent almost my entire day on Saturday at the festival, and it was heaven to me. I started with a session called “Coffee with Authors” which featured Alexi Zentner, author of Copperhead; Anissa Gray, author of The Care and Feeding of Ravenously Hungry Girls; Karen Thompson Walker, author of The Dreamers; and Taylor Jenkins Read, author of Daisy Jones &…

Check back on Wednesday for a look into my goals for the next 12 months. Before officially moving on, I wanted to do a little wrap up of all the products, habits, books, and random things I was loving in 2018, so let’s get started!

    Top 5 Nashville Coffee Shops

There are few things in this world I like more than a good coffeeshop. I personally love spending a Sunday morning in a cozy spot working on blog posts and doing the crossword (I promise I’m in my early 20s and not actually 75 despite everything that tells you otherwise). Nashville has a lot to offer in terms of good food, live music, and bar hopping, but it also has a surprising amount of local coffee shops. I haven’t hit every place yet, but I’ve compiled a list of my top five Nashville coffee shops I’ve discovered thus far. Let’s get started.
