    Catching My Eye | 6.7.19

What a week! I’ve got two massive events I’m planning coming up next week, so I’m basically a chicken with its head cut off until next Sunday when I can finally breathe again. But honestly, I kind of love it. Maybe I’ve found a new passion? Who knows. Even though this week has been crazy, it’s also been exciting. I love a new month, and June is such an exhilarating month since it kicks off the summer and all the fun things that come with the season. I shared my summer bucket list with you all this week, but I’m truly looking forward to the possibilities that come with summer — the…

    How To Create Healthy Habits

I hate to be that person, but I’ve been pretty good about sticking to my new year’s resolutions and kicking butt in 2018. The other morning, my roommate came downstairs and caught me reading my book and drinking tea before work and she begged me to just have one unhealthy habit (trust me, I have plenty including an unhealthy relationship with sweets and a bad habit of napping when I have 10,000 things to do), which got me to thinking about how I developed my current healthy habits that I try to practice every day. I’ve read #4, #42, and #49, but the rest are definitely going on my TBR list. 5. Check out this adorable video of a baby sloth my mom sent me! 6. Let me know what your favorite beach reads of this summer have been so far in…

    Treasure Tuesday

I am currently powering through “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” 2.  3. I got 12 hours of sleep last night, and if that didn’t brighten my Tuesday, I don’t know what would. 4. Look at this fantastic map a 17-year-old created of how literature has evolved over the years and where certain themes and styles originated. AMAZING. 5. Please leave any suggestions for me to read down below. I’d love to read some of your favorites! Happy reading, Kimberly

    Pondering Penumbra

I finished “Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore” this past weekend, and I absolutely loved it! It was the perfect mix of entertainment and suspense. Ryan has already reviewed this amazing book, but I’m going to give you five little thoughts I had while reading it. 1. How would I answer Mr. Penumbra’s questions? There are two questions asked in this book. The first is asked to Clay and his answer is contingent upon his securing a job: “What is you favorite book?” And the second is, “What do you seek in these shelves?” My first answer would be obvious, “1984” by George Orwell has been my favorite book since I read it…
