Top 10 Books Read in 2018

Another year has come and gone, just like that. While I still haven’t hit my goal of reading 50 books in a year, I definitely feel like 2019 is my year. I’ve read, and finished, 47 books by the time this post is going live, so I still had quite a few books to wade through to find my favorites. I’ve come up with my top 10 books read in 2018. Let’s get started!

Top 5 Books of 2018 (So Far!)

I’ve read over 20 books so far in 2018, and I am jazzed! With a goal of 50 for the year, I feel like I’m at a pretty good pace to hit, and possibly surpass, that goal for the first time since I set it a few years ago. Setting monthly TBR (to-be-read) lists has been revolutionary in my reading practice. It takes the indecision out of picking the book I am going to read next, and it encourages me to really reach my goals. For the most part I’ve enjoyed the books I’ve read this year, but these stood out for one reason or the other. Let’s get started!…

    Top 7 Summer Books

A part of me feels like I was just anticipating warm, spring days, but now, I’m in full on summer mode. Transitional seasons only last for a couple days, which is highly disappointing since they seem to be everyone’s favorite, but I’ve learned to accept it and jump on board for whatever season Nashville decides to be. I wanted to do a post dedicated to the books I think encompass that summer feeling. Books you can read on the beach or curled up in blankets on the couch. Summer is the perfect time to read no matter the setting that’s most comfortable to you. Let’s get started. Image from Amazon…

    Top 10 Tuesday: Looking Back

Top 10 Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010. It combines what I love most in this world into one—lists, books, and blogging. It couldn’t be any better suited for me! This week’s topic is all about the books released in 2015 that you just didn’t get around to. I’m actually going to focus on ANY book I wanted to read last year that I didn’t get to because the year of a book release isn’t very important to me — I just care about the book. Let’s get started! 1. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald I bought this in a used bookstore last year, but…

    Book Haul: Christmas Edition

Hello friends! I hope every one has had an amazing holiday, regardless of what you celebrate or even if you celebrate at all! This time of year is perfect from spending time with family and books. I normally wouldn’t post anything about presents I’ve received, but I got so many books this year that I simply had to share with you all this amazing book haul! (Side note: This is in no way me bragging about anything I promise! And if you feel like it’s braggy at all, just click the little x in the right hand corner of your screen!) Books My wonderful mother and father showered me in…

    Top 10 Tuesday: Fall TBR

Top 10 Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010. It’s a fun way for bloggers all over the Internet to connect and post the things they love about books. Today I am talking about the books I want to read this fall! 1. All the Bright Places — Jennifer Niven Because look at this beautiful cover. (And it delves into mental illness, which I find fascinating.) 2. Eleanor and Park — Rainbow Rowell Because I’ve been wanting to read this since the beginning of summer. 3. The Lucifer Effect — Philip Zimbardo Because I saw it on my friend’s reading list, and it looks so cool!…
