    Summer Favorites 2019

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think summer might be almost over. It stays hot in Nashville until mid-late October, but I’m already craving leggings and oversized sweaters. That being said, I’ve really fallen into love with a few things over the past couple of months, so I thought I would share my thoughts on my summer favorites. Let’s get started! 1. Winnie-the-Pooh Mug I have been absolutely loving this mug. My brother and his girlfriend brought it back for me from their trip to Disney a few months ago, and it’s quickly become my favorite mug in my ever-growing collection. I use it every night when I…

    Why I Got A Tattoo

Surprise! I got a tattoo! About three weeks ago, on May 4th, I decided to scar my body for the rest of my life, and it’s the best decision I ever made. As most of you know, my grandmother passed away earlier this year. It was expected, but it was still hard. To make it harder, my family never got the chance to celebrate her amazing life. So, I made a choice to honor her in my own way — by getting a tattoo. Truthfully, I try to honor her life every day by living it how she would have liked me to. I say yes to far more opportunities,…

    April Favorites

April was a bit of a wacky month for me. My friend from Germany visited at the end of March, which threw my first week of April off balance since I didn’t prep for the week like normal. And then, in the middle of April, I went to Virginia for a weekend, which threw me off again for an entire week. Even though it was a bit wonky, I made some amazing memories with old and new friends, and found some new things to love. Let’s get started with my April favorites! 1. Dresses with Jean Jackets I’m the queen of wearing a self-imposed uniform, and I can already tell…

    Top 5 Evergreen Children's Books

One of my favorite things about reading is being able to escape into a world that isn’t my own. An added positive is to learn something new or gain a new perspective on life while flipping the pages. That’s where children’s books come in. Before you angrily close your window at my suggestion to read a children’s book in your early adulthood, hear me out. Children’s books teach important lessons about friendship, family, learning, and pursuing your dreams — lessons that are applicable at any age.  I’ve got a list of five children’s books I think are evergreen and can be learned from at any stage in life. Let’s get…

    We're Going to Disneyland!

Actually, we already went. And it was just as magical as I thought it would be. I grew up in Florida, so I’ve been to Disney World plenty of times, but the first time I really experienced it was when I went during the spring break of my freshman year of college with my best friend. That’s when I caught the Disney bug. He’s obsessed with Disney, and we went all out for spring break — park hopping, fancy meals, riding thunder mountain twelve times in a row, it was one of the best trips I’ve ever been on. If you read my post from last week, you’ll know that…

Top 10 Tuesday: Kid Characters I Want to Meet as Adults

Top 10 Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010. It combines what I love most in this world into one—lists, books, and blogging. It couldn’t be any better suited for me! This week’s post is all about the childhood characters I would love to meet as adults. Let’s jump right into it! 1. Fern from Charlotte’s Web I still remember curling up in old bedroom reading Charlotte’s Web with my mom as a wee kindergarten student. It was one of the first real books I remember reading and the movie was actually the reason I was a vegetarian for two years when I was younger. I would love to…

    Book Haul: Christmas Edition

Hello friends! I hope every one has had an amazing holiday, regardless of what you celebrate or even if you celebrate at all! This time of year is perfect from spending time with family and books. I normally wouldn’t post anything about presents I’ve received, but I got so many books this year that I simply had to share with you all this amazing book haul! (Side note: This is in no way me bragging about anything I promise! And if you feel like it’s braggy at all, just click the little x in the right hand corner of your screen!) Books My wonderful mother and father showered me in…

    Top 10 Tuesday: Book Quotes

Top 10 Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010. It’s a fun way for bloggers all over the Internet to connect and post the things they love about books. This week we got to pick whatever topic we wanted to cover! I’m a huge fan of quotations (I have a whole list in my phone that I add to whenever I’m reading), so here’s a compilation of some of my favorites. 1. Christopher Robin “You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” I have this hanging across from my bed on a canvas I made myself to remind myself…

    Top 5 Wednesday: Maps

This weeks Top 5 Wednesday is all about maps! Personally, I don’t own a lot of books with maps in them because I don’t read that much fantasy, but I will include some of my favorite maps, as well as maps I wish existed. 1. Hogwarts – Harry Potter How is it that after years of books and movies, the only “map” we’ve ever seen is glimpses of the Marauder’s Map? I want a real, full-blown map of Hogwarts and Hogsmeade so I can finally figure out what this place would really look like. 2. MIddle-Earth – The Hobbit This is real, and I loved it. It helped me follow along…
